Re: Random game chat
Spoilers in the above video obviously but man it is a cool little inclusion into Far Cry 4 that highlights a unique thing video games can do
Re: Random game chat
Video doesn't play Cal, at least not for me. It just says This video is private.

Re: Random game chat
No bother, I'm getting Far Cry 4 anyway, it's quite good apparently and, it has to be said, surprisingly after AC: Unity, so I'll see for myself soon enough.

Re: Random game chat
I'm not interested in any video or article that highlights how a game can be completed in under 15 minutes.
The only benefit to that is to show a dev how stupid their game is!
I may be missing the point as unable to watch the video but what a joke it sounds especially how new the game is.

Re: Random game chat
Don't worry it's a very intentional thing, it's not an exploit or bad design but it requires the player to do something they will most likely never doMarkySharky wrote:I'm not interested in any video or article that highlights how a game can be completed in under 15 minutes.

It's a bit of a joke that the MotoGP 14 Compact game is double the price on PS4 than 3. Forget that!

Re: Random game chat
Modern gaming can be a pain in the arse sometimes. I've borrowed a copy Of Ryse off a friend just to try it out, I put it in the console and installed it and then I was told it required an update, a whopping 9.5GB update at that, which was needed for online play, now I don't want to play online, just the story, but it's not optional, you can't play the game at all without updating. So now I'm downloading a huge update just to play a borrowed game that I might not even finish if I'm not keen on it!

Re: Random game chat
If it's the same as 2013, it's got no career mode and slim online options. It basically includes a quick race, gp season and online race. But that it contains all the physics and graphics of the full fat title I think the £8 price is very reasonable if you want to race some bikes. £16 PS4 version not so much...at that price it's probably worth getting the full disc game.

Great, lengthy feature in the latest issue of Edge magazine to mark the 20th anniversary of the Playstation launch. Hard to believe it's been 20 years since I waited impatiently for my PS to arrive and was blown away by Wipeout - now that was next gen gaming! Actually it hasn't, it's been 19 years since the UK launch, but you know what I mean.

Re: Random game chat
I had a similar experience. A friend bricked their Xbox One and I said I'd take a look before he resorted to returning it to Microsoft. I fixed it by performing a factory reset firmware update. Anyway, I thought I'd play a bit of Forza 5 to see what it was like....but I couldn't launch the game without downloading a humongous update. So I didn't bother.megablast16 wrote: So now I'm downloading a huge update just to play a borrowed game that I might not even finish if I'm not keen on it!

A GOTY edition of Dark Souls 2 has been announced for next year.
Dark Souls 2: Scholar Of The First Sin, as the edition will be called, will be released on April 7th and will feature all the DLC packs to date and a number of enhancements including more NPC's to enhance the story and improved gameplay balance. The really big news though is that it's coming to PS4 & Xbox One as well as PS3, 360 & PC, as you'd expect the next/current gen versions will include upgraded graphics, sound and performance.

Shame it's easily the worst game in the franchise, so much so that I still can't be arsed to complete it. If it were either of the earlier games, I wouldn't have hesitated to double-dip (probably the only games I would EVER double-dip for) but this one, think I'll be passing.

Re: Random game chat
I never got round to buying it, even though I intended to, so I may get it. To be honest though it's a bit too close to Bloodborne, which I'm definitely getting, so if I do it'll be at a later date.

Re: Random game chat
Hearthstone's first full expansion Goblins Vs. Gnomes is out later today!
Everyone who logs in before 19th December will get 3 free packs of expansion boosters.
It is also a great time to get started playing the great game if you haven't already because you should get quite a few free packs of cards after running through the basic stuff in the game

Re: Random game chat
Sorry Cal but Hearthstone is total and utter bollocks. I found it one of the least enjoyable gaming experiences ever, even worse than tower defence games. It was all just so pointless and unrewarding that I have now deleted the game never to return.

Future has announced the closure of the CVG brand, it started as a magazine way back in 1981 then became a website only more recently but that's going too now. I rarely visited the website to be honest but avidly read the magazine for many years in my early gaming time, so it's a bit sad.

Re: Random game chat
The website covers a lot but it's so biased the news wasn't impartial. And the forums full of idiotic trolls. Still it's better than the rubbish thing NowGamer has turned into!

A little sad about C&VG. I read it back in the day but I don't think I ever visited the website.
Even back in the 80s, it wasn't the best gaming mag (Crash and Your Sinclair were my preferences).

I used to get C&VG every month. I still have a few copies up in my loft I'm sure. I remember when they gave away a cover cassette of the Out Run and 720 Degrees arcade music. I played that thing to death.
