Titanfall is such a damp squib of a game. Great for a week or so then it just gets very, very, boring.
Re: Random game chat
If anybody enjoyed Life Is Strange: Episode 1, you might like to know Episode 2 now has a confirmed release date. It's out next week, March 24th.

Already have the season pass and I can't wait, going to be a good/busy week for me as I'll also be getting Bloodborne and Toukiden Kiwami. About bloody time too as it's been far too fucking quiet for new releases over the last few months.

The stylish launch trailer for DmC: Definitive Edition, brilliantly it uses the song Cry Little Sister from 80's classic The Lost Boys.

Re: Random game chat
Demo for 'RIDE' now available, I know there's some fans of two-wheeled racing on these forums so figured someone may be interested in this.
Funnily enough, despite my being a fan of motorcycle games, this has been completely off my radar, however, it may actually offer something a little different without having to be hemmed in by the MotoGP license although I've also got nothing against those games. Milestone certainly know how to do bike sims although their games can be a little 'dry' as a result. Chances are, this could be more of the same but I am curious to see how the demo holds up, especially with the variety of bikes the full game will contain.
Also a demo of Toukiden Kiwami arrives today (although I suspect I'll be the only one of here that gives that a look ). Strangely, at the time of writing, only the Vita demo is on the EU store, whereas demos for both the Vita and PS4 versions are available on the US store.

Re: Random game chat
Played the Ride demo today, and was a little disappointed to be honest. The initial excitement of different tracks and bikes was quickly nullified by the sheer similarity to the MotoGP game. There's still this odd detachment to the game that stops it feeling personal and alive. After a few races, it just felt very droll. I also found that it is naturally your instinct to take a corner as close to the apex as possible, but in this track with the demo, there were barriers all around the road, and I would inevitable lean into them and knock myself, which was a tad annoying. Nice to see something a little different, but it's just so-so from the demo!

Yeah just heard that, you'd think they'd do a collection with all three main games.

I rekon that will go PS+ fairly quick, and I wouldn't mind replaying it then.

Only played this recently so at least I won't get suckered into this!
On a similar note, it seems the rumours of a Gears of War HD trilogy have been debunked

Remember the Overlord games from early in the last gen? Well it looks like a new one is in the offing.

Would love to see Overlord make a comeback, admittedly the second one wasn't quite as good as the original but it was still decent enough. I still have them in my collection as they were another of those games that I decided to reacquire after shifting from the 360 to the PS3 so I may need to dig them back out, moreso as I still haven't made a restart on the second game.
Even the standalone Wii game, the name of which escapes me, was pretty decent albeit far too short and dumbed down.

I really liked the Overlord games too. The first one is the best but the second is decent enough. I have the Wii one in my pile of shame, still!

Another delay into next year. After Uncharted 4 and Wii U Zelda, Remedy's Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break has now been delayed into 2016. I'm starting to get a sense of deja vu, 2014 was looking promising at one stage until a number of delays were announced, now it seems to be happening again!

Re: Random game chat
Cancelled my subscription to EDGE today, it's a bit sad as it means for the first time since I started gaming I no longer read any printed gaming mags. I used to be an avid games mag buyer, regularly buying six or seven every month in the 90's and into the early noughties but slowly they got whittled down until there was just GamesTM and EDGE.
I haven't bought a copy of GamesTM for about a year and now I'm done with EDGE too. They just can't compete with the bang up to date news and reviews of websites anymore, which just left the quality of the articles to keep my interest, and to be honest they're not so good nowadays either and EDGE has been in decline for a while.

Re: Random game chat
I cancelled my games tm subscription. The last few issues were just crap with not very insightful commentary and spelling mistakes throughout. The content was just poor and they keep banging on about VR and Steam which just don't interest me. I now no longer read a games mag either. In fact I just get Empire.

Re: Random game chat
If I get any magazines I mostly grab them on my iPad because you then get things like embedded videos, links and interactive articles. I still have a physical subscription to Edge though because I can't be bothered going through the hassle of cancelling it.
Re: Random game chat
I subscribe to Edge on iPad, having not read it after cancelling a print sub about a year before. I picked up the iPad sub as it was on offer but tbh I only skim it. I cancelled a print sub to games TM at the same time and think I've maybe bought one copy (on iPad) since. It is not as good as it used to be.
I buy the odd (iPad again) copy of Retro Gamer (which is a decent read) when it is featuring something I'm interested in. The massive advantage RG has over the other mags is that, somewhat understandably, news isn't a big part of it. The internet has killed that side of things for print, as why pay to read something that you read for free weeks before?
I do miss the thud of a games mag sub copy on the doormat though - beats bills!

Re: Random game chat
I used to travel to derby because there's a shop there that sells 1 or 2 month old magazines... now for a mag selling up to the date news thats a bit useless but I used to buy a lot of issues of Retro Gamer from there which with it all being old stuff it being 1 or 2 months out of date isent a draw back at all and they were selling them for like 1quid a magazine.
Wish there was somewhere like that in my own town.

Re: Random game chat
If a magazine was a quid I would happily buy it. But many modern magazines are over £5, which is far less appealing and hard to justify sometimes especially when an issue was not very good...

I rather get my games stuff in other forms now. I pay a few quid a month to the VideoGamer Patreon for their podcasts and their video output is excellent and not too serious

Do you get much extra stuff with the Patreon, Moozo? I listen to the VG podcast every week but not much of its video output.
