I remember the original Bioshock demo was pretty good, it's a pity demo's have virtually disappeared now.

Look at how successful PT was in terms of coverage and getting a game talked about. Surely a demo of that kind of quality is worth building for the exposure and awareness it brings. I'm surprised demos are still not being done.

I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing more things like P.T. happening from next year onwards. A really effective way of getting people talking about a new game without actually playing or seeing anything from the final game.

I think demo's for new IP's are a good idea. It gives players a chance to try out a game they might otherwise have been wary of buying, it still needs to be a good game in the first place of course though to get them hooked.

Sony had their conference at the TGS today. Not a great deal to interest me apart from the Bloodborne expansion to be honest, but as you'd expect it was very Japan-centric.

Main highlights were the aforementioned Bloodborne DLC details, Gravity Rush 2 confirmed for PS4 + the first game also being remastered for the console. Project Morpheus is now called the rather boring Playstation VR, AC: Syndicate will have DLC featuring Jack The Ripper, the PS4 will be getting new colored controllers and faceplates and also an official price drop for PS4, Japan only at the moment though.

Did anyone watch Gamechangers the GTA drama thing last night? I'm hoping to watch it soon but pretty much everyone who has seen it says it is laughably bad.

Yeah I watched it, laughably bad sums it up pretty accurately to be honest.  Rolling Eyes

Don't know how many on here have been playing Life Is Strange but the final episode will be a bit later than expected. The episodes have been roughly every 8 weeks or so, and the last episode was in late July so Episode 5 was due anytime now, however it wont actually be available until October 20th now Square-Enix have announced.

Far Cry Primal has been announced by Ubisoft. News of it actually leaked first, and it was originally assumed it was a digital only expansion similar to Blood Dragon, however it's now been officially confirmed and is said to be a full blown, full price retail game. Not too much info at the moment but it's set in 10,000BC and you'll be able to hunt mammoths and sabre tooth tigers. I've enjoyed the Far Cry games so it'll be interesting to see how FC gameplay fits into it's pre-historic setting, what will replace the radio towers for example!

So Uplay has been scrapped by Ubisoft, which is a shame as I actually thought it was a really good service. You unlocked points which you could then swap for items of a digital nature, and in-game perks. But a lot of the content was actually really good. I got the AC: Unity soundtrack, a bunch of dashboard themes, plus numerous in game bonuses - I particularly liked the Ghost Recon Future Soldier weapons and camo kits.

But it is being replaced with Ubisoft Club, which looks like a very similar thing...

Ubisoft has scrapped its Uplay service and will be replacing it with a very similar rewards scheme simply known as 'Ubisoft Club'. The Ubisoft Club will work in almost the same way as Uplay, awarding players with points for completing certain in-game objectives.
These points can then be exchanged for bonus in-game items, as always, but now you'll also be able to earn XP towards earning more bonuses, including badges and Units to spend on rewards. Ubisoft Club also works across all platforms, so you'll be able to earn awards on any game on any platform.
As well as in-game rewards, Ubisoft Club will offer members a chance to participate in betas, purchase limited edition products and access discounts on Ubisoft content from its E-Store. To access Ubisoft Club, you can simply use your existing Uplay details to login or register a new account here.
You'll find Ubisoft Club integration in Assassin's Creed Syndicate when it launches on 23rd October for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Look out for our review in a few days.

What are the bets that this evolves into an EA Access style service in the next year?

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is the best selling COD since BO2. Unlike AC Syndicate COD has got back back on form and the numbers prove it. Lots of people on my friends list seem to be playing it. I'm looking forward to starting it. Is COD on an upswing again? Being the biggest game of 2015 so far makes it appear so.

Just another interesting stat 90% of COD sales were PS4 or XB1.

It does seem to be the best COD for years, maybe even since COD4: MW. I may pick it up, I'm not sure yet. I'm a bit confused about the story campaign though, some reviews have said it's the usual 6 hours or so but another one said it's long for a COD campaign and at least 10 hours.

I think the 91% stat is the UK only, although I'm sure it's similar worldwide, and the full breakdown is PS4 48%, XB1 43%, XB360 5% and PS3 3%. Anyway I doubt there will be a last gen COD at all next year.

I think COD has earned its place as an ever green annualised release like FIFA/Madden. I can't be bothered with it any more but it looks like they have hit a sweet spot with making it appeal to a broad audience.

None of the current new game releases have garnered my interest apart from Rise Of The Tomb Raider, and I'm being bought that for Xmas, so I'm strangely at a bit of a loose end gaming wise during what should be a packed time of the year.

Having said that though Just Cause 3, out next Tuesday, looks like it could fill the void until I can play Tomb Raider. Looks to be a lot of fun.

Yeah I think 2015 has been a bit light on games that I've wanted to buy. I can't remember the last time I have bought so few titles in a year. However I would say that the quality of the games has been a bit better than recent years and despite few games the ones I have got have been really good. Witcher 3, Project Cars and Until Dawn spring to mind.

2015 has certainly been a better year than 2014, no doubt about that, it's just that personally most of the recent releases haven't really got me excited. 2016 is looking good though.

I think this year has been amazing for games! So much variety in both the big AAA space and the smaller indie side of things.

Now that he's no longer with Konami Hideo Kojima has revealed the new Kojima Productions logo, and the first project for the newly independent studio will be a brand new IP exclusive to PS4 on console.

Disney Infinity 3.0 question:

If I buy a stand alone character (I'm thinking of Kylo Ren) - what do I get in the game? Just the character or do I also get his awesome ship?

I hvaen't got 3.0 yet so I don't know how the Star Wars ships work. But usually you can unlock them by playing through their associated playsets. The figure itself allows you to play as and level up that character in toybox mode and any playsets it is compatible with.

The year is only 4 days old but we've already got our first game delayed till 2017 announcement. Platinum Games XB1 exclusive Scalebound is the game in question, the first of many delays no doubt if the first two years of this gen is anything to go by.

Announcing games well before they should be is part of the vast number of delays we've seen the past couple of years.
