Re: Random game chat
Looks like Darksiders 2 could be up next for the remaster treatment if this is true.

Re: Random game chat
I listen to GT time from Game Trailers, it does a good job of summing up the past week's worth of news and new games.CPC6128 wrote:Can anybody recommend a decent gaming podcast? All of my previous favourites are now discontinued and I'm looking for a new show to subscribe to. I need my weekly dose of gaming news to accompany me on my journeys to and from work.
Any ideas welcome.

I listen to the Videogamer podcast. It is of varying quality but fits my 'journey to work' bill

I listen to that to but it can be a bit hit and miss at times depending on what sort of mood they're in when they're recording.sorenlorensen wrote:I listen to the Videogamer podcast. It is of varying quality but fits my 'journey to work' bill
Re: Random game chat
I listen to Simon Miller's new one, Be-mpowered, mainly because he has a different guest every week and it's usually one of the ex-X360 or NowGamer crew.
Although Miller's back at VideoGamer now so whether that'll carry on I don't know

Re: Random game chat
Could this finally be the end for the near mythical The Last Guardian?
Sony has abandoned the trademark for the games name in the US, of course it could just be a name change or a mistake on Sony's part not to renew the rights but, considering the game's history and the complete lack of any new about the game for years, it wouldn't be a surprise if it was cancelled. Sony haven't commented yet.
EDIT: Sony have now re-registered the trademark and insist it's still in development, maybe it will be a PS5 launch game.

Project Cars has been delayed yet again, it's not too long this time though. It's moved from March 20th to April 2nd.

I've got nothing against The Order: 1886 personally, I might get it or I might not, but this spoof interview with a supposed Ready At Dawn developer made me laugh.

I'm looking forward to The Order, it's my kind of game. Cinematic 3rd Person Action Adventure is my jam.
As for length, it is about the same as playing through an Uncharted game. As long as the gameplay is good and the whole package is engaging to me I really have no problem with it. I think it is just the usual rabble kicking up a fuss over nothing really.
I've paid a lot more for a lot less games wise in my life.
Re: Random game chat
Reviews for The Order are up and they're not good overall from the main sites, Kotaku in particular rip it to pieces.

I wasn't expecting glowing reviews but some a pretty harsh.

Re: Random game chat
I grow less and less interested in reviews full stop. I've cancelled my Games TM subscription and I very rarely read reviews online. So many of them are click-bait "look how controversial we are giving this big game a bad score". I will scan the scores when a game comes out so that is a bit hypocritical of me but I put MUCH more trust in what you guys say.

Re: Random game chat
I still read reviews but only from outlets I trust and I never rely on just one outlet. Some games, I purposefully won't look at reviews for fear of spoilers (I set quite a low bar as to what is a spoiler). This is particularly the case with games that I know without looking are universally critically acclaimed (I didn't read a review Last of Us for example).
But on certain games (like this one), I'll look at a number to get a feel of different people's opinions. My take on The Order from this is that it is probably good, but not great, though looks outstanding. And it's short.. That's enough for me to want to get it, though not to pay top dollar new release prices

Re: Random game chat
Yeah all these reviews have actually made me more interested in the game rather than put me off. I now wouldn't mind trying it when before I really wasn't bothered. Not getting it at full price though - it's inevitably going to get cheap quick with lots of second hand copies. Although I fear for the developer if they suddenly announce DLC...

Re: Random game chat
A friend of mine is getting it today so I'll try and get a lend of it if I can, I'm still interested in playing it despite the reviews but I wouldn't pay top whack for it.

Re: Random game chat
After a pretty dull few months March is looking like a cracking month. Personally I'm looking forward to Ori & The Blind Forest, Axiom Verge (Super Metroid for PS4 effectively), Hotline Miami 2 and the biggie, Bloodborne, there are others I might have a look at too.
Any games out this month that tickle anybody's fancy?

BLOODBORNE!
Seriously though, also looking to pick up Toukiden Kiwami (same day as Bloodborne ). Although I tend to pick up those monster hunter type games on Vita, having one on the PS4 will make a nice change. There's also Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, Life Is Strange Ep 2 and the Lords of the Fallen DLC.
A few of my regular Dragon Age multiplayer buddies are also trying to convince me to get Borderlands: Handsome Collection as well as the recently released Dying Light. Then again, they've also spent the last month or so trying to talk me into Destiny and that ain't EVER going to happen .

Trine 3 announced for a 2015 release. I loved Trine and Trine 2 - this will be an insta-buy for me.

Re: Random game chat
March for me is all about Hotline Miami 2, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD (and the FFXV Demo included with it) then Sid Meier's Starships and Ori and the Blind Forest if I have the cash to spare.
Also very tempted to pick up Bloodborne but I might wait for that to drop in price.

Re: Random game chat
Really losing interest in single player gaming at the moment. Much prefer co-op/online stuff.
Re: Random game chat
I see all Titanfall maps have been made free forever. Wow, it's like going back in time. Remember when all map packs were always free? Before the days of the "Season Pass"? There is not a single chance in hell that this will set a precedence though.

Were they previously paid for? Wouldn't this just piss off the people that bought them?

Talking of Titanfall, a second game has been confirmed and it will be multiplatform this time, including Playstation.
