Drive Club
This game is actually out pretty soon, including the free PS+ version, which we found out recently is actually fairly stripped back. But there is a range of free DLC coming each month until Summer 2015, which actually goes somewhat to making it seem a lot better - these include free tracks, cars and events. Here's a handy pic that shows what DLC is being released:

Re: Drive Club
I'm not a huge racing game fan so I'll probably just get the PS+ version and the free DLC packs as they arrive.

Re: Drive Club
I think the free DLC will go some way to mitigating the stripped bare PS+ version which was kinda disappointing after what we expected. I don't think I will pay anything towards this game unless I suddenly love it - my racing hopes lie with Project Cars.

I'll be sticking with Forza 5 and Horizon 2 for my racing fix outside of Driveclib free game.
Re: Drive Club
I assume we'll be setting up a Checkpoint.net driving club then boys?

Re: Drive Club
I think we should! The clan tag could be CKPT. Hopefully as we all can get the game we could have some racing sessions.

Re: Drive Club
Could be up for a few races once this drops*, although I certainly won't be bothering with the full version either.
*Assuming I don't play this on my sub-account, which to be fair, this game just screams sub-account to me.

I heard that you can contribute to your club asynchronously - for example, if I win a race and unlock a car then all club members will have access to that car. If that is true then that's cool.

Re: Drive Club
I think you should play it on your main account TPM! It is a social racer after all so you are missing out on it's point if you don't join our club. (Besides I want to race all those cars you've unlocked for me!)

Jeez!
Because peer pressure will really convince me
Given my general dislike for driving/racing games (and my subsequent lack of skills in them) I suspect that any contribution on my part would be minimal anyway.

Re: Drive Club
Drive Club will weigh in at 17gb download and is a free PS+ game on top of our normal monthly games. Cool!

Re: Drive Club
So the review scores look mostly rubbish.
There's even a typo on the back of the box apparently.
Not surprised at all.
I'll play the PS+ version to see what it's like but don't see me playing it much.

Re: Drive Club
That's a shame since it seems like they put a lot of effort in to try and get it right. Oh well, at least it's free...

Re: Drive Club
Did they? A year delay and still not all promised content will be included such as dynamic weather?
Re: Drive Club
I might not even bother with the PS+ version after reading some of the more negative reviews, I'm not a big racing game fan anyway.

This! Although I've been saying that ever since the thing was announced, don't think it's looked appealing at ANY point since it's announcement.

Re: Drive Club
The thing about racing games reviews is they either want hundreds of cars and sim realism or gimmicks and stunts.
A game like PGR would probably review horribly these days. Driveclub looks similar and apparently the handling is excellent.
For me, that's all I want from a racing game really. I'll spend hours doing time trials and racing my own ghosts quite happily without needing anything else.

Re: Drive Club
The way you guys are talking you make it sound like the game is a right dud. The reviews aren't bad at all they're just not glowing. If you like racing games, then I still think this game will be good. Yes I'm saying that without having played the game, but so have you guys already deciding that it's not worth your time. It's FREE- make the most of it! My only concern is how much content is included with the free version and that it may get boring from lack of content.
