Being 'remotely interested' isn't the same as knowing you will buy a game on day one so yes, wanting to try a demo is pretty normal.

I'm not really comparing them. I would love to buy Drive Club too but I can only afford one racing game really and I've chosen PC.

So I was in CEX, and I saw this game for only £12 second hand! That's really rather cheap for what looks like a decent racer. And I was mighty tempted!!! I didn't though. I have to say, principle won out. I'm still thinking I don't want to give them my money yet, when Sony said they would let us have a PS+ version. Also, Project Cars anytime soon....

But I am starting to wonder when I might actually buckle and decide to get Drive Club, especially at those good prices...

That's a great price. Don't forget you can get the free extra tour packs as well still.

I've already "bought" all of the free content on the web store, in anticipation of getting the game at some point.

£12 you say.....

I buckled.....

And it was worth it so far! Only done a few races but they were very good and I like the whole structure of the game. I certainly prefer it to the open world racers currently flooding the market.

If its 12 second hand then the people who made it are not going to see anything from that money remember

Yeah but Evolution are a Sony first party so they've probably already been paid, and are still being paid, for making and continuing to support the game. It's more likely Sony itself as the publisher that will lose out on a second hand sale instead of a new one.

Evolution will be worse off due to second hand sales. Their budget for the year will be worked out by looking at a variety of factors and new users buying DriveClub will be one of them.

That Ferrari video looks awesome. The post release support has been fantastic. I'm really tempted to get it again.

I still reckon the full game will be free on PS+ though it's just a matter of when.

I might just go for it anyway...

Yeah. Although it's awful for the people that lost their jobs, the studio put out a botched release. Those are the unfortunate consequences in such a cut throat industry. You would have thought that being under Sony though would have given them more protection from that.

Drive Club has been handled badly, media-wise. The free version at PS4 launch sounds like something a marketing team thought up. Would've been good if it'd worked but I wonder how likely that actually ever was?

I must confess that I much prefer Forza Horizon 2 tbh...

Jeez, I forgot this was promised at launch - that has really worked out badly for them. The problem now is that those interested in the game will already have it (as mentioned, it's now £12 quid in CEX) so putting the free version out is not really going to deliver any benefit to Sony or the developers.

At this point I think the PS+ version might as well be scrapped, if it hasn't already, they could just release the full version on PS+ at the end of the year or something.

I think a full version on PS+ in the auturn is the most likely outcome, to fuel xmas sales (maybe in conjunction with its first official price drop).

I'm sure you will all be relieved that I've ended my inner turmoil and made a choice! I'm gonna pick up Drive Club! I know I always said I was going to wait for the free version, but at £12 I still think it will be great value. And as for Prjoct Cars I might hold off buying that for now and when I come round to it it will hopefully also be cheaper SmileSmile

I have a copy in my hands and I can't wait to play it! Oh wait...there's a 7gb update!  Shocked Still I guess it's the update that turned the game from crippled launch to reformed racer...

As its a racing game about racing clubs, it seems to make sense to start a Checkpoint club. I know Moozo already has a club, but I was disappointed to see that you can only have six members per club, which seems a little short.

But I took the liberty of creating a club called TheCheckpoint and its open to anyone on here when you all eventually get the game.

Moozo - thanks for the offer of joining your club, but as that was for your friends, I thought it would be good to have a forum one.

And maybe, down the line when more people have the game, we can do some online racing!
