New Member Drive and Looking Busy 2015 Edition!

Things have got a tad quite around here recently so I figured now is a good time to give everyone a nudge to do their part and get more members for our humble community.

I want you to spread the word about what we do here and hype up the community because more members = more fun (in theory!)

Go crazy! Grab people in the street and scream in their faces,



Also feel free to go crazy with some new topics. We have the same five or so topics in constant rotation so if anybody can think of something cool to chat about please throw it out there.

I'm constantly tweaking things behind the scenes and we're in a good place so now is a good time for us to step things up a bit

So lets do this!

Ive tried very strongly to bring two people I like over from a forum they hate but its surprising how many people will stick somewhere there getting bullied because its where they've always been..

Ill see if I can sway anyone else decent though

Although I had assumed it was done through brotherly love...no I realise it was just a recruitment drive!!!!!!!

It's appreciated but don't want people to feel like they have to post for the sake of it.

I've been meaning to ask you for ages but kept forgetting. This recruitment drive reminded me. 

I don't think its a case of posting stuff for the hell of it. I've had the same thoughts as cal and think that just by having more members will help as it will just generate more chat naturally. But there's no way for people to really find us. So I think we all should just mention it to people, friends - use Twitter for those who use it! Let's just try and get more people.

I think there's been a lull in stuff to actually talk about too - post Xmas lull and all that.

When's E3? 

Personally, work has been a bit manic since the New Year (I found  my 'listening to videogame podcast time' was outstripping my actual game time!) , so not time for other things. In a bit of a lull at the moment, before an expected tunnel of shit in mid-March.  Better get some gaming in

Pretty difficult to inspire others to join when there's fuck all worthwhile discussing in gaming at the moment, IMO.

Hasn't been a major worthwhile release since last November (Far Cry 4), and even the promise that 2015 was supposed to have had is disappearing quickly with very little of note to get excited about for the year ahead. 

And the above is also the main reason for my recent absence.

One of the reasons I did the whole SNES thing is because if you rely on just what's coming up to talk about sometimes there will be an absolute massive drought in which sod all happens.

I have mentioned the site to a number of gaming buddies, and they said they'd have a look but nobody's signed up yet. Most of them seem to stick with the main sites, Eurogamer, IGN and the like to have their say on the latest gaming happenings to be honest though. The fools! 

I can't imagine anything worse than mainstream gaming site forums. Must be full of fanboys and trolls.

Sadly wretched hives of scum and villainy seem to have appeal for a lot of people

The problem with most of the large ones, as well as the trolling and fanboys, is that too many people post, so you are essentially shouting in the dark. Little in the way of an actual conversation.

Very true. I know it can be quiet but at least we have some good chat from time to time.
