Hooray for the end of the Summer Games Drought!  Smile

Over the coming months I'm definitely buying:

Gears Of War: Ultimate Edition
Tearaway Unfolded
Halo 5: Guardians
Fallout 4
Rise Of The Tomb Raider

Actually that's not that many definite's, but there are these maybe's that I'll wait and see on. Some I'll probably buy if they turn out good or wait till they're cheaper.

Until Dawn
MGSV
Mad Max
Uncharted Collection
Rainbow Six: Siege
Star Wars Battlefront
Just Cause 3
Hitman

I would have included No Man's Sky in the maybe's but I don't think it will be out this year.

PS. Rainbow 6 Siege has now been delayed until December 1st.

And that list there pretty much sums up just how fucking shit (IMO) 2015 has been for gaming.

Only definites are:

Tales of Zestiria
Fallout 4 (which I'm still not that hyped about)
Yakuza 5
No Man's Sky (if it does indeed arrive)
Divinity: Original Sin (hopefully it'll arrive before 2016)

Possibles are:

Tearaway Unfolded
Disgaea 5

But yes, a fucking lacklustre holiday season awaits Mad

  • Forza Motorsport 6 (possibly but not on release)
  • Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (yes, probably on release)
  • Halo 5: Guardians (maybe, certainly not on release)
  • Fallout 4 (100% yes - have pre-ordered the collector's edition)
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider (yes, on release)
  • Hitman (almost certainly, maybe on release)

Really? The games drought is over? That's a poor list of titles. I will certainly be holding on to my wallet. Here's my pick of titles:

Until Dawn (but when cheaper)
Uncharted Collection (but when cheaper)
Assassins Creed Syndicate (but when cheaper as this version is really not grabbing my attention)
Call of Duty Black Ops III (only because of the coop)

And that is literally it. 4 measly games, most of which I'm in no rush to purchase and I'm only getting COD on release due to coop obligations.

Tell me about it! 2015 has been a bit of a crap year, with a handful of standout titles. I've only bought two games on release at full price so far this year - Witcher 3 and Batman.

There's more on that list I'd get. Tomb Raider would have been a definite but I don't have Xbox. I would have gone for Gears, Forza and Halo too if I was multi console.

And I really should be interested in Rainbow 6 and Star Wars, but their online only modes puts me off massively.

So I'm left with that really poor list above. Still, I've barely scratched the surface of Witcher...

Seeing as it's reviewing really well (and the fact that there's fuck all else out), I decided to stick an order in for Until Dawn.

Given that the game features the usual annoying clichéd fucking teens I just know that I'll be doing my damn best to ensure that NONE of the pricks survive the night.

MGSV has been reviewing extremely well, some are even bandying about the word masterpiece! A lot of the reviews are also saying a lot of the faff and endless cut scenes have gone in this one and it's more about playing than watching than any other MGS game. As I've previously said, I'm not really a MGS fan but my interest has picked up a bit, although I still wont get it at launch. Maybe a few months down the line though.

I could have predicted that reviewers would have called MGSV a masterpiece before the game was even announced due to the gaming press collective hard-on for Kojima.

The guy makes good games and plays around with the medium rather than just playing it by the book. There's a reason he's so revered.
