Square Enix Media Briefing E3 2015
I completely forgot about this (playing The Witcher 3 has that effect on you) so will have to catch it on demand later but the one thing that made me sit up and take notice when I saw mention of it on twitter was the announcement of a new Nier game.
That news may just be the best fucking thing that has come out of this years E3, which has already had some moments. I absolutely loved the first game, the story, the atmosphere, the best soundtrack ever in a game, hell, there wasn't a lot I could find fault with at all.
Add in the talents of those guys at Platinum Games (who rarely make bad games) and I fail to see how this could wrong.
I can't wait to see/hear more later in the year, but definitely one of the moments of E3, aided by the fact that I didn't see this coming AT ALL.

I didn't watch the SquareEnix Briefing but I was entertained watching people complain how boring it was on Twitter on my commute home!

Yep, I did make the mistake of watching it after all (despite being warned by a twitter friend not to) and it was fucking boring, it's not as if they didn't have anything worth showing but most of the stuff was just brief pre-recorded gameplay segments, a shit load of early concept art and the same trailers we'd seen previously in the Sony conference. All delivered in a dry lifeless manner that was utterly devoid of any passion or personality, it felt like I was watching an extended version of that godawful fucking Pele interview thing that EA did.
Other than the Nier announcement (which is a while away anyway) the other things that did interest me were a bit more on the next Star Ocean game and something about a new RPG IP currently codenamed Project Setsuna (which was only concept art anyway).
They missed a real chance to really expand on what we already know about Rise of the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided assorted Final Fantasy stuff, Kingdom Hearts III and Hitman. Then again, seeing as they managed to kill any excitement that I might have had about Just Cause 3 maybe it's best that the didn't go into more details about the other stuff.
