Re: Drive Club
The Club stuff itself is a bit limited. I feel like they lost some of the functionality there at some point.
That's fine Wolvie. On your own you'll probably never get close to getting some of the club cars though. If you ever want to try any of them, you can always join our club and then leave again after. You can only be in one club at a time, sadly.
Have you downloaded all of the monthly free cars off the PS Store?

TBF, given the number of active forum members and then combine that with those that are likely to get the game, then room for six members is ample enough

Re: Drive Club
I was slightly disappointed in not being able to be in more than one club. I don't really see why it would be an issue, surely the XP you earn could be allocated to both clubs?!
In all honesty, I am just annoyed that leaving my Level 30 club to join Wolvie's has robbed me of the Bentley I was using!!!

Re: Drive Club
Appreciate keeping our little community together. Maybe if we can get a couple more players when/if they get the game we can have club races against Moozos club.
I would have liked to be in more than one club too.

Was passing a CEX so scraped together the cash to buy it... they had like 40 copies in so sifted through them for an unmarked/undamaged case... Havent tried it yet though.

Re: Drive Club
I was going to try it while my dad and daughter were out (The ps4 is connected to the biggest main house TV) but it wanted to do a 10 gig install so I tried out tower of guns, Athurus awakening and Apathoen

So the latest patch does behind the scenes work to pave the way for....the PS Plus edition!!! It's on it's way!
And everyone really should try it because it's an awesome game. Not as technically refined as Project Cars but much more fun!

I'm not really that interested anymore personally but I can see Sony making one of those dramatic E3 announcements. "We promised you Driveclub PS+ edition, and we're delighted to announce it's available....NOW!"

At least a PS+ Version should provide some new blood to the game I guess..

Re: Drive Club
We'll finally be getting the PS+ version tomorrow, well sort of anyway.
It seems that initially we'll only have the offline modes available and the online aspects will be slowly rolled out in due course, because of the game's notoriously shitty servers.
I am still curious to check this out although I'm also not expecting much but at least we finally get a chance to give this a try.

Re: Drive Club
I heard that it had appeared on the PS Store last night by mistake, but was quickly taken down as the servers still aren't ready. I haven't heard anything about an offline version releasing tomorrow though PH.
EDIT: The news has just popped up on Eurogamer, still not sure if I can be bothered anymore though.

Wolvie's words defeat my Drive Club ambivalence.....I'll give it a go (when I'm not playing Batman that is)

Re: Drive Club
I'll be giving it a go. Driving games aren't really my thing but hey this version is free!
Re: Drive Club
Managed to give this a brief go on my sub-account, figured I may as well seeing as the mutiplayer wasn't supposed to be working anyway. Still waiting for a lot of the app data to install so the already reduced events offered in the PS+ version where limited further by the lengthy install (still 12hrs to go at the time of writing).
What I have played seems enjoyable enough, certainly looks good graphically (albeit not as mindblowing as some have made out) and the weather effects are incredible, has a really good sense of speed, and the handling model sits nicely with me in the way that I find pure-sim to be dull as shit and some arcade handling just doesn't suit. This one could work with me.
To my surprise the online aspect was working and I had a couple of online races and the bigger shock was that both races worked flawlessly, athough that could well have been luck. As for the results of those races, seeing as I was always bringing up the rear when we had our old Forza racenights, it was no surprise to see the same happen here. I will temporarily put it down to my lack of experience with this game.
Could I be tempted to upgrade?
I'll have a further look at some of the other events when the installation is complete and I did enjoy what I briefly played, more than I expected to so who knows? I've not written it off. I could do with a racer in my collection and given the current other titles available, this may not be the worst option.

Oooh another convert? I think if you are thinking of upgrading maybe not bothering with the PSN deal. I don't know what it is, but this game is cheap second hand. I paid £12 at CEX. That value is brilliant for such a good game.
I'm just waiting for the season pass to be reduced and then I will get that too.

I was looking at the prices for retail as I don't like the limitations of the PSN upgrade* (priced at £19.99) so if I do decide to go after the full version I would definitely be going down the physical route.
Heard a lot of people singing the praises of the value in the season pass, I've not looked at what you get for it but again, something I'd consider should the game win me over.
* I know there was a lot of initial confusion about what content you'd loose should you ever cancel your PS+ sub and whilst that scenario is unlikely I've not bothered looking into if that confusion was ever cleared up anyway.

Re: Drive Club
The season pass appears to double the amount of content in the game in terms of single player tournaments, with a sprinkling of car packs. There's at least 12 DLC packs already with more "coming soon". At £20 for the pass it looks like great value too, but I'm in no rush so happy to wait for a sale at some point.

Re: Drive Club
India is probably the most disappointing location visually. Shame that's the free one really.
As I understand it, the DLC packs work with the PS+ Edition, so if you wanted to buy one of the cheaper tours just to try it will only cost you a couple of quid at most.

Good idea. That said, it seems that it's not so much the location that's been limited, just which part of the 'Tour' you can access (only 'Startline' events are available) as I've managed a few races in other locations, mostly Norway.
Had a couple more online races although entry is still limited as I'm trying to prioritise the downloading to focus on parts of the Tour available to me, especially as the download is getting slower as time goes on, but again, they held up well.

Re: Drive Club
Theres a couple of free DLC packs available as well - the Photo Finish Tour is free to download, and will give you an idea of what each tour pack consists of, as they are all very similar, just with different events.

Only usable with the full version, considering they were made free to those who supported the game through all the launch issues guess it would have been a bit of a liberty to expect these to be available for us freeloaders :p Cheers anyway.
Finally got the thing fully installed now so I can try the rest of 'Startline', one thing I've noticed is that the game provides a decent challenge, unless I'm just bloody terrible, which is the most likely.

Re: Drive Club
Is it in the UK store yet because I couldn't find it as of last night?
I looked in the PS+ section, digital games and used search but only the £19.99 full PS+ edition came up.

Re: Drive Club
The Startline tour is actually really quite challenging, it certainly has some of the hardest races from the game in there. Ironic as it is meant to be a good starting point!
