Apparently with the programme being more mid-season there wasn't time to order the extra episodes rather than the ratings being bad. The network is still yet to confirm cancellation or a second season though.

Re: General TV thread
They could have ordered more - it was still in production when that decision was taken - it was the fact that they didn't have enough rating info at the point when they had to make that decision, as the show launched a bit later than the norm for other new shows http://deadline.com/2014/11/constantine-stop-production-13-episodes-season-1-nbc-1201294518/
Hopefully it'll be picked up (I am quite hopeful).

Fair enough, I'm sure I read it differently elsewhere but cannot remember where so I'll just agree with you.

First two episodes of Justified season six, looking already like it might be at season two level.
Game of Thrones season three. Bit behind on the series and just watched the first episode last night.

More Justified and Game of Thrones and the first episode of This is England 88 again.
I say again as I watched it when it first aired but somehow managed to miss episodes two and three so am now catching up with them.

It took me a few attempts to get in to Community. The second season was my favourite but the 5th was a great return to form

Started the second season of Community after watching the first in five days...
The paintball episode was absolutely fantastic, one of the funniest episodes I've ever watched of anything.

Watched the final episode of Parks and Recreation tonight. The whole last season has been really indulgent but in a good way.
I'll just be over here in the corner weeping from all the feels....

I finished Agents of Shield last night. I started watching this on TV but gave up after episode 10 as it was just a bit pants. But as it was on Amazon Prime for free I thought I'd finish it off. It was still a bit rubbish but did pick up in the final few episodes with the aftermath of the Winter Soldier storyline but overall it was very disappointing.

Season 2 is rather good I think the show is finally starting to come into its own.Wolvieware wrote:I finished Agents of Shield last night. Watched the first four episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Not great so far though it is getting slightly funnier as the episodes go on.

Re: General TV thread
I've moved on to Alcatraz on Amazon Prime as I saw it on there and remember thinking it looked good on release. Halfway through and I'm quite enjoying it. It has a good central storyline mystery although it is moving at a slow pace. Fortunately the individual episode stories have been good as well. However I happened to look the series up to find out it was cancelled and nothing resolved. Which kinda makes me wonder if there's any point watching the rest of the series...

Re: General TV thread
Finished the last series of Alias tonight. The fifth season was the best since the first really. This show completely lost its way in the middle. It started off with a great first season, which I don't think it quite capitalised on with the second series. By the third season it got so convoluted with its plots, and spies and double crosses that it was just confusing. I think this last series was good because it stopped building up its twists, and actually did a good job of unravelling everything, and providing the answers...finally! So a good ending, but not a show I really liked overall.

Re: General TV thread
Yeah, Alias is very hit and miss which is a shame. We really enjoyed the seasons one and two, found three to be a slog, thought four picked up again and enjoyed five.
You can really tell that it's an Abrams show as it starts strong before stumbling when he leaves.

Last two episodes were lacking but overall it was quite good. Will be getting the second season from a mate next week.

It's rather bloody good isn't it?!!
Really impressed with the look of the show and that it even manages to get some humour in there. The fight scenes were excellent and it told a clever, intriguing story. All this, and it includes an absolutely genius link to the MCU.
Cannot wait to continue with this.

Re: General TV thread
Watched the first episode of Daredevil last night. Found it a little bit contrived because the episode's only purpose is setting up who the good guys and bad guys are. It doesn't try anything outside of that which is a shame.
I've heard good things about the rest of it but as first episodes go it was just all right.

Re: General TV thread
I thought the first episode was boring, but hopefully its just setting things up. I've not been very impressed with Marvels TV viewing really.
I'm one of few who thinks that the Daredevil movie is actually brilliant (especially the directors cut).
