Re: The Assassin's Creed Mega-Thread
I like the idea of the setting- lots of tall buildings to climb in revolutionary France - but the bugs I've read about on the internet have put me off. I'm sure it'll be patched but I might wait until after that time. I had thought this was a definite game to get someone to get me for Xmas but now I'm not so sure.
AC is such a fixture in the Xmas schedule, I figure Ubisoft just couldn't delay it 2-3 months until it was finished

Have you seen the prices for AC: Unity's "micro-transactions?" The range from £3.99 to an eye watering £64.99, and all they buy you are packs of "Helix Credits", which you turn into Francs to buy better weapons and gear and stuff in game or something. But never mind that, £64.99!! that's more than the actual game, WTF!

Re: The Assassin's Creed Mega-Thread
The sad thing is there is a sizeable group of players who will pay the £64.99 and most likely multiple times.megablast16 wrote:Have you seen the prices for AC: Unity's "micro-transactions?" Coop isn't unlocked until sequence 3. I've finally got there after about 5 hours play, so just waiting for my fellow coop players to reach that before I try out this much vaunted new mode.

Re: The Assassin's Creed Mega-Thread
Due to the bugs and glitches affecting Unity at launch, the first piece of DLC is now free!
Sadly because of this you can now no longer get the season pass...meaning that the future DLC will now be full price only.

Apparently people who brought the season pass are getting a full game for it...

Re: The Assassin's Creed Mega-Thread
And I almost got the season pass too! Too me it sounds like a false prize. Although getting a piece of free dlc, ubisoft are likely to get that back from the future dlc being sold at full price.

The free games include Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs and The Crew, so they're not just older titles to be fair.

Re: The Assassin's Creed Mega-Thread
I think Ubisoft have done the right thing by holding their hands up in apology and offering compensation in the form of free DLC.

Next year's Assassin's Creed is going to be in Victorian London. Awesome!
It will also be PS4/XBone/PC only. I can't wait to climb up Big Ben.

Looking forward to this. Hopefully they'll finish it before release this time...

Haha! Yes, it could end up being Dick Van Dyke-tastic!sorenlorensen wrote:

I think the main characters will be fine, it is the minor NPCs I fear for...CPC6128 wrote:Haha! Yes, it could end up being Dick Van Dyke-tastic!sorenlorensen wrote:

In Unity the crowd audio is fantastic. Speaking French and with the authentic looking world is does seem like you really are in France. So it can be off putting when the main characters don't even have a French accent.

Re: The Assassin's Creed Mega-Thread
I went to Rome at the weekend (loved it) but I just felt like I had walked into Assassins Creed! It took all my strength to resist the urge to climb some of these buildings...and then leap off the top into a bale of hay!
And walking round the corner and coming in sight of the Colosseum is astounding stuff.
Still...Now I'm back home, and wanting to relive my previous life as an assassin in AC Brotherhood.

Rome is an amazing city I had a blast when I was there last summer.
Re: The Assassin's Creed Mega-Thread
The best part of the Assassin's Creed gamesis definitely the historical/architecture elements. I thought about getting Unity after visiting Paris over the new year despite my hate for the franchise

Re: The Assassin's Creed Mega-Thread
I often look at buildings that look like they *could* be from an Ass Creed game and think about scaling them. Westminster Cathedral near Victoria station, Methodist Great Hall near Westminster Abbey, all of Valletta in Malta.
I've just started Unity. Very, very early days yet - too early for impressions, other than it looks very pretty

Re: The Assassin's Creed Mega-Thread
The latest AssCreed Unity patch unlocks all treasure chests. This is good, as it means we no longer have to bother with all of that inter-connectivity bullshit between other AC games and apps and bollocks that have prevented us from opening the chests just because we decided not to waste our time on them.
That said...its not like there's enough chests cluttering the map as it is, but at least now the map won't be filled with totally useless icons.

Re: The Assassin's Creed Mega-Thread
Ubisoft has announced Assassin's Creed: Chronicles, a series of three budget priced games done in a side scrolling 2.5D style that will explore regions that the main games haven't touched. Gameplay looks very similar to Mark Of The Ninja, the first episode "China" is out in April with "India" and "Russia" out later in the year.

Re: The Assassin's Creed Mega-Thread
Priced at £7.99. I think they sound very interesting, and could be a bit of fresh air in the AC universe. I will deffo pick up China, and then see about the others based on this. China is the first to be released next month.
