Re: PlayStation Network
Don't know to be honest, I just though it was the first Wednesday of every month and next Wednesday it will be 4 weeks since the last update anyway but, as I said, next month's titles haven't been announced yet. They usually announce the titles about a week beforehand.

Re: PlayStation Network
I just checked and the 4 week thing was not the case, it is first Wednesday of the month for EU PSN.

Re: PlayStation Network
October's PS+ titles have now been revealed, they are.
PS4 - Driveclub: Playstation Plus Edition
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Spelunky (also PS3 and Vita cross buy)
PS3 - Batman: Arkham Asylum
Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles Of Mystara
Vita - Pix The Cat (also cross buy with PS4)
Rainbow Moon (also cross buy with PS3)
All arrive on 8th October. Only Driveclub really interests me, all the others I've either already played or I've never heard of.

Re: PlayStation Network
Very little of interest in that update, yet again .
Never really been that bothered about Drive Club (looks dull as fuck), what little I've read about Pix the Cat sounds shit and all the others I've either played or couldn't give a shit about.
The only positive that MAY come out of that update is it might inspire me to return to Rainbow Moon. Bought it when on release ages back and absolutely loved what I played of it before I got sidetracked, never to return.

Re: PlayStation Network
It's better than recent months, although that's not saying a lot. I enjoyed Dust: An Elysian Tale on Xbox 360 so I might give the PS4 version a spin.

DriveClub! Woo!
I've played Batman on both 360 and PS3 already!
Is Dust any good? I've heard it before but don't know much about it.

It's OK, it's a side scrolling action RPG cum metroidvania type game that's a bit shallow and simplistic perhaps but good fun and worth a try as a freebie, the twee American voice overs are annoying though. This video might give you a better idea of whether you'd like it or not.

Re: PlayStation Network
I've heard that the story is super dark despite the fluffy characters. I just wish it was on Vita as well, it looks like the kind of game I'd prefer to play on the go.Wolvieware wrote:Is Dust any good? I've heard it before but don't know much about it.

PSN down on Monday evening, between 6pm to 1am. No online gaming for us that evening then.

Re: PlayStation Network
Thought I'd give some of this months offerings the sub-account treatment last night.
Started on Spelunky, despite the high praise this game seems to get I really didn't see the appeal and was bored before the tutorial was even done. I don't mind the occasional rogue-like game but give me Rogue Legacy over this any day. May give it another quick glance but ONLY if I'm extremely bored and have nothing else to play (unlikely).
Next up was Dust: An Elysian Tail, this was a completely different story and I soon made the decision that this was going to be worth playing on the main account. Looks like it may be a lot of fun, with only some minor annoyances, albeit a little on the easy side too, so I restarted on the next difficulty up.
Maybe I shouldn't be so eager to rubbish the PS+ updates in future
EDIT: Not sure what's up with the weird font

Spelunky left me cold too and I didn't get past the tutorial. Not tried Dust yet

Vita Owners: Get the free Uncharted theme for your little device, it's dead pretty.

It's now been confirmed for October 28th and will include, among other things, the much vaunted Share Play feature.

Re: PlayStation Network
You ready for probably the worst PSN line up yet....
Brace yourselves....
Coming to PlayStation 4 are Binding of Isaac: Rebirth and SteamWorld Dig, Frozen Synapse: Prime and Luftrausers are coming to PS3, and PS Vita owners will be able to download The Hungry Horde and Escape Plan.

Jesus they're really scraping the barrel now, I've never even heard of 4 of them! I thought Knack might have shown up before the end of the year but it looks like AAA retail titles on PS+ are a thing of the past!

Re: PlayStation Network
Steamworld Dig is a great game. I'd recommend it on the Vita (it is cross buy). I had hours of fun with it. Luftrausers is pretty decent too (again, on Vita). I've wanted to play Frozen Synapse for a while so pleased with that and Binding of Issac is a rogue-like from the Super Meat Boy guys which I've played a bit of on Steam.

Re: PlayStation Network
Whilst not appearing to be the greatest update ever (I think those great updates are gone forever), I made a decision last month not to bitch about the updates until I have at least played a couple of the games, largely due to being caught off-guard by just how fucking brilliant Dust: An Elysian Tail ended up being.
Like CPC, been curious about Frozen Synapse for a while and I'm also keen to give any rogue-like a try so hopefully Binding of Issac turns out to be decent.

Re: PlayStation Network
Free games are free games and there is always one or two for me in the lineup each month so I can't complain.
Re: PlayStation Network
All is not lost for PS+.
Some more titles were revealed. Both Gods Among Us (already played, but good enough to warrant another download) and First Light (Knew I shouldn't have bought it!) are due to be released in the coming months.
