Re: PlayStation Network
Do you have marketing emails switched off? I'm surprised they didn't send you anything.Wolvieware wrote:My PS+ sub has just been renewed. I didn't know it was going to run out. I wasn't even aware that I had Sony to automatically renew it and take my money. So it came as a bit of a surprise when I was £40 down in my bank. When I found out it was due to PS+ I knew it was fine - I would have renewed anyway. But A bit of warning from Sony to say it was ending, and to remind you that will be taking some money out of your account would certainly have been welcome...
Re: PlayStation Network
I get all emails about purchases and playstation plus games etc, so im going to presume I do.

Apparently it was supposed to be this months game and failure to get it together in time was the reason for the delayed announcement. A great game, although I still have it in my collection

Mine was renewed yesterday, but I had topped up my wallet with a prepaid card beforehand - I don't trust Sony with my credit card details. If your subscription is set to automatic renewal I don't believe they notify you before taking funds from your wallet or credit card/Paypal if you have no funds in your wallet.

Re: PlayStation Network
I got an email from Sony to tell me my sub was expiring. This is only because I set my auto-renew off. It sets it back on again even if you renew with a voucher. I then went in and turned auto renew off again.

Anybody else unable to access the Playstation Store? When I try I just get a blank screen, it's been like it since yesterday for me.

Re: PlayStation Network
Anybody else experiencing slow download speeds on PSN?
It too me over 4 hours to download the 3.5GB Arkham Knight update yesterday afternoon. My connection is much faster than that, for example I downloaded all the DLC that came with the game, about 2.5GB in total, in less than an hour later that evening.
Apparently it is a thing though, and Sony are looking into it.

Yes, also had major issues and it took me 15hrs to fully download DriveClub. Admittedly it was a hefty download comprising of a 2.7 GB initial install then followed by a 10+GB patch and then a 25GB app data file but even that lot should have only taken about three hours or so with my internet.
You can 'trick' the PS4/PSN into downloading at the speed you expect by repeatedly pausing/resuming the download (I did this a few times with DriveClub), although the speed would often slow down again unless you got lucky and it maintains the speed throughout the download, which it did do on the smaller two of those aforementioned files.

Re: PlayStation Network
Apparently it is an outside factor causing the download issues across the network...
Re: PlayStation Network
It seems it is traffic related to me. I had the same experience with the Batman DLC being super quick but the patch struggling. And obviously there's a hell of a lot of people downloading Driveclub too

From next month PS+ will update the first Tuesday of every month in the EU instead of Wednesday in line with the US. No word on what July's PS+ games are yet though.

Re: PlayStation Network
Sony could be toying with introducing a feature that would allow us to vote for what games we want on PS+. The idea is there'll be a choice of three games to pick from and the one with the most votes would be on PS+ the following month. Could be a good idea as long as it's not 3 obscure Indies every month.

Re: PlayStation Network
Nifty idea, but the concept of going with what is always the most "popular" could see some of the smaller games actually be left out.

Re: PlayStation Network
I think this will be voting on the smaller games each month rather than bigger AA and AAA titles. The deals for bigger games are a constant negotiation between the PS+ team and Publishers so I doubt they will put them up to a vote.
Re: PlayStation Network
A more details have emerged about Vote To Play. First of all it's now been confirmed by Sony and will start soon, it will only be PS4 games that feature, the games that don't get picked will be put in the store at a discounted price for PS+ members and it wont be a monthly thing but spaced at regular intervals throughout the year.

Re: PlayStation Network
I see the logic. The voting games will only be unreleased indie games so it will prompt voters to research the titles ahead of release and hence increase awareness. A pretty smart move.

Re: PlayStation Network
I agree they'll all be Indie games but I think a lot of them will be PC ports rather than all unreleased games. To be honest I think there'll be some tat on there too, games that weren't considered good enough to go straight into the Instant Game Collection.

Re: PlayStation Network
Even if they doubled the price I'd still consider it value for money. I have no doubt there will be uproar about this all the same.
