Alien: Isolation
Looks so good. Might have to stick down a preorder and put aside some money for this!

Re: Alien: Isolation
I've had it on pre-order since before the pre-order DLC was even announced, and I rarely pre-order games. You can never be sure but I've got good vibes about this one.

Re: Alien: Isolation
Yep, I've preordered too. Slightly annoying that it's released on a Tuesday, as that's a difficult day for me to take off - I'd planned on taking the day, assuming it was going to be a Friday.

Re: Alien: Isolation
Haven't pre-ordered I'm waiting on reviews for this one because it is either going to be really good or loose all tension after a few hours.
Re: Alien: Isolation
Preordered this last night. Even went for the Ripley Edition which was a little bit more but has that cool sounding original movie DLC.

Season Pass announced, but it will only contain map pack DLC for the Survival Mode. Pass.

Re: Alien: Isolation
With Alien 3 being all about one Alien stalking people I wonder if there will ever be an expansion covering that film .... I thought about this while playing Alien 3 on the SNES

I don't buy season passes in general and this one doesn't sound like it will change that, the main game will do me.

Re: Alien: Isolation
I wouldn't get it - I absolutely hated Alien 3! Particularly as it is a sequel to my favourite film of all timekerr9000 wrote:With Alien 3 being all about one Alien stalking people I wonder if there will ever be an expansion covering that film .... Re: Alien: Isolation
Whilst off-topic a bit I love Alien 3.
I too hated it at first but have come to really love it now.

Re: Alien: Isolation
I hated Alien 3 the first time I watched it mostly because they killed Hicks, but it grows on you... I have 3 and Resurrection on blue ray basically because the box set of all 4 aliens films was cheaper than buying Alien and Aliens but not I have watched them all a few times again I am glad.

Re: Alien: Isolation
I'm quite looking forward to Isolation, looks like it could be a really great game.
From what I've heard it cannot be any worse than Colonial Marines.

Re: Alien: Isolation
I know some of us have preordered this, but I saw this great offer at Zavvi: Free steelbook when you preorder, plus a choice of an Alien movie steelbook bluray for free. Plus, it's actually cheaper than most places I think. I went for the Game exclusive with the Last Survivor DLC, but I don't think that warrants the £53 price for an extra chunk of DLC, when Zavvi are doing the above offer, plus Crew Expendable DLC, for only £45.

I went for Alien, naturally.

Re: Alien: Isolation
I took advantage of an E3 promotion GAME were running back in June that gave you £5 off a forthcoming game if you pre-ordered during E3 week, so that's the one I'm getting.
On a separate note, according to a reply to a reader letter on Metro/Gamecentral, their review will be appearing sometime this week, so I assume other sites will have theirs too. It's a good sign that Sega are allowing reviews to go out a few days before release.

Re: Alien: Isolation
I've always had a soft spot for Alien 3 - I think David Fincher did a good job of taking the Alien idea in an interesting direction. Brian Glover is great in it too, R.I.P.MarkySharky wrote:Whilst off-topic a bit I love Alien 3.

But then again I really enjoy Alien Resurrection so what do I know?
Re: Alien: Isolation
As I said, I ddint like 3 but thought it was better than Resurrection (though I believe firmly that both had all the right ingredients in place to have been great movies but were spoiled by studio interference).
Throwing another 'mixed reception' Alien into the mix (and to derail the thread further ), I liked Prometheus.

Re: Alien: Isolation
I think Ressurection, while the weakest, is still pretty good. It just goes to pot in the last half hour really. But the underwater aliens sequence is brilliant and I still love the moment Sigourney sinks the basketball without looking (which she did for real without assistance).

Re: Alien: Isolation
Not that keen on Alien 3 or Resurrection, that weird alien hybrid baby thing at the end of Resurrection was terrible, one of the worst creature designs in any horror/ sci-fi movie let alone an Alien film.

Re: Alien: Isolation
And Prometheus was complete and utter pretentious wank.

Re: Alien: Isolation
Resurrection is awful in comparison but a good action film.
I personally quite like Prometheus.

Re: Alien: Isolation
I thought Prometheus was OK, definitely could have been shorter but it was a good companion piece to the original Alien. Anybody know if there will be a Prometheus 2?
