Seems alright so far.
This is my third attempt to get into it as the last couple of played for around half hour and then thought meh. It's completely lacking any originality at the moment but has something strangely alluring about it that now makes me want to play it.

Lords of the Fallen - Third playthrough (as a Cleric this time), just got far enough to start the DLC. Still fucking love the shit out of this game.
Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines - Falling in love with this too although still early, clan is hitting 3rd/4th generation and is growing at a nice rate.
Dragon Age Multiplayer - Still addicted........somehow

Re: Now Playing
Started MGS2 HD after finishing the first game.
The graphical differences are amazing. Admittedly this is the HD but even so it's like playing two different games almost!
Negatives are Raiden being a massive bell end and it's very stop/start with even more codec and cinematic interruptions than the first game!

Yeah the codec calls can get a bit annoying at times in MGS2. I think they found a god balance with it in MGS3 though.MarkySharky wrote:Started MGS2 HD after finishing the first game.

Re: Now Playing
Ori & The Blind Forest. I've been eagerly awaiting this game since I saw it at least years E3, and it was worth the wait. First off it looks beautiful, completely hand drawn with no assets re-used it really does look like a high quality animated movie, and that extends to the animation and lush orchestral score.
But it's the gameplay where it really shines, there are some similarities with Dust but there's much more platforming and exploration here and there's a touch of Metroidvania as new abilities allow you to access previously locked off areas, and even a light RPG element with a 3 pronged skill tree to upgrade. It's the kind of game where you say I'll just play for another 5 minutes to clear this area, and an hour later you're still playing as more and more of the map opens up.
It's a proper hardcore platformer too, no concessions to the casual audience with an easy mode or anything, it's challenging even early on. Frustration isn't a problem though due to the responsive and precise controls and the fact you can save anywhere, providing you've got enough of a certain type of energy orb that is, and when you do fail it's usually the players fault for not concentrating, there are very few unfair deaths. And it's just so good to play even when you do die, you don't mind restarting your last save anyway. It's the most I've enjoyed a game for ages, and after playing the good looking but rather sterile interactive movie that was The Order recently, a welcome return to pure, old school gameplay.

Re: Now Playing
I made a start on Rayman Legends and while I am enjoying it I really don't get what all the fuss is about. Compared to any Mario game this is a fairly standard platformer. I am also finding the controls really sluggish for some reason...
Re: Now Playing
Started playing the black sheep of the Zelda series The Adventure of Link.
Jaysus, never played it before and I can already tell that it's going to be a bar steward of a game.

Re: Now Playing
I've got a day off today with no plans (need to use up holiday by the end of the year) so having a chilled day. I thought I would treat myself to a brand new game so have started Infamous: First Light. So far so Second Son. It's a nice expansion to the game filling in some more story details but currently isn't quite as interesting as the main game. Making it a standalone release is cool, but I doubt many people would fully understand it if they hadn't played SS. But I quickly fell back into that Infamous gameplay style and the easy to use controls make it fun to travel the world and get the collectibles. Apparently it's short so will see if I can complete it today as well.

Now playing The Order 1886, and must confess to absolutely loving it so far. The biggest compliment is the visuals, which are gorgeous. They really are so good, it's worth playing the game just for them. It's also very very cinematic, which I like. Almost half my game time so far has been cutscene. I think the storyline so far is a little weak, but its early on still. Yet for a game which is obviously so reliant on it's story and movie like feel, you'd think they'd really nail down a good story, but so far its a little ho hum. The gameplay is solid too, and really nice to control. Very smooth. I think I will enjoy this on first impressions, although I can see why at £40 it is not a good investment with no replay value (fortunately, I'm just borrowing my copy, so free...yay!).

Started the Battlefield Hardline single player campaign yesterday and it's a lot of fun! It feels like a streamlined, modern day LA Noire in some ways.
Graphically very impressive. Much better looking than I though it would be.

Much like you I enjoyed The Order to start with but eventually the constraints it places on the player and the linearity, and the constant interruptions from cut scenes and QTE's started to annoy me and I ended up rather disliking the game. Again like you though I borrowed my copy, so I can't moan too much, and it does look incredible and it's the easiest Platinum I've ever got so it wasn't a complete waste.

Re: Now Playing
I've had a bash at the Burial at Sea Bioshock Infinite DLC that I bought ages ago in a sale but never played. Decent add-on to the original and interesting to see Rapture from the first games in its heyday. Graphically it still looks very good, despite being last gen.
I've also gone back to ACIV to mop up some side missions that I'd not done when playing it to completion. A better game than Unity (though I need to play that more to get a better feel).
I also played some Sniper Elite III on 360 in co-op and it was great - really good co-op experience. So far (and I've only played a couple of missions) it is better than SE2 and as enjoyable as the original xbox game

Re: Now Playing
I'm currently taking my time playing through the FFXV Demo that comes with Type-0 HD. Man this is getting me excited for the full game! There is fair amount to see and do in this demo and while it may not be perfect (feels like Aplha gameplay at times, regular frame rate issues, etc.) it really does show the potential of what FFXV can do.
Also here are a couple of videos I recorded!
Here is some basic combat:
Here is just about one of the craziest things I have seen in a game for a long time!

Re: Now Playing
I am now playing Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, and it is brilliant fun. It's the top down coop shooter/puzzler, but it seems much improved over the first game Guardian of Light. The coop element is much better implemented, involving proper team work to progress through levels, not just as extra bullets or cannon fodder. Some of the puzzles have required all of us to be working together, moving around and activating objects, and its satisfying to play. On top of that, the game has a hub world, which is much better organised than the first game, and it just feels more fun to play, better thought out than the first. It could do with a bit of polish though - small glitches and jumpy cameras are unnecessary. If you liked the first game, I would recommend this as well. Also, if you don't play coop, the game should adapt to however many players you have.

Re: Now Playing
Now playing Battlefield Hardline. Just quickly though...as the bloody thing still hasn't finished updating!! It allowed me to play the prologue though, and if this is anything to go by, it seems promising for the rest of the game. The cops n robbers feel is fresh and welcome, giving the game a slightly unique approach to FPS. And by implementing arrests and searching for evidence makes it feel like the perfect Hollywood cop movie, coupled with the car chases and big bangs we expect from action games. But the game felt a little patchy. Battlefield 4 is a solid game, but the action seemed a little jerky and not fully polished. Maybe background loading causes that? Anyway, looking forward to playing some more.

Re: Now Playing
Currently spending time with Lords of the Fallen at the moment. I quite like the slower pace of the game and really like the style and look of it. Its just all a bit difficult but I am getting there.
Also just started Driveclub. Lovely looking game, handles well and thr overall structure (individual, race track based) is just what I like in a racer. Good stuff.

Re: Now Playing
Now playing Drive Club! And its good. It really is. It almost seems a shame it has such a bad reputation from launch, as Sony could have had a really good racing series on its hands. From my opening races, it feels nice and chunky, with responsiveness but handling that feels really solid - not wishy washy like Need for Speed or Burnout. It's probably the best handling I've played since Forza. The game does seem basic though, with just a screen of events to click your way through. Buying the DLC seems like a must seeing as it appears to pretty much double the game content. And it does look really nice, but I was a little disappointed as trailers seemed to show it off better. The changing weather and day night cycle is refreshing, and there are some neat minor details that just make it appear more realistic. I'm very happy to have got it, and think it will be very fun.

Started playing Football Director DS.
I read that it's supposed to be terrible but I'm actually really enjoying it.

I started Shadow of Mordor on Friday. Really enjoying it. Strangely reminds me of the Viking game from early in the 360's life.
Suffers a bit from slow down at times and the frame rate is a bit choppy (PS4) but otherwise very enjoyable. Like an Ass Creed game where they'd finally tried to do something different

Re: Now Playing
To kill some time until The Witcher 3 I have returned to the Dragon Age multiplayer, which has also been updated over the last couple of days.
Bioware have added three new character classes, all of which are fun to play and they've also added a new map as well as the option to fight a High Dragon as the final boss of the operation. The new map is really nice and a lot more open than the other three and also has a lot more enemies as well as the threat of periodic elemental damage.
They've also made a couple of other minor changes which have made the experience more user-friendly, Admittedly, the update came later than it should have done and it may only put a temporarily hold on boredom but given the amount of time I've put into this side of the game I can't really complain.

Re: Now Playing
Mostly playing Forza Horizon 2, just completed the finale of the Horizon festival which they kind of build up as the end of the game, and then it just continues... Also been having a bash at Drive Club which I find quiet enjoyable.. and playing the odd bit of retro stuff.

Re: Now Playing
Made a start on Sniper Elite III and while it is a buggy mess of a game with awkward controls I am finding it oddly compelling to play.
Re: Now Playing
Been getting some retro gaming on the go too recently. Currently playing Star Wars: Dark Forces on PC and Incredible Crisis on PSone!
Re: Now Playing
Incredible crisis is awesome, picked it up recently for 1quid from a charity shop... Id played it before but never had it myself so never been able to sit on it as long as I liked etc
