Movie News / Trailers

There seems to be a lot happening in movies recently, but we don't really have a place to discuss them, so why not stick it all in here. 

First up:
Jurassic Park:
Looking good, but I'm concerned about the genetically modified dinosaur angle causing this to just simply be another monster movie, rather than a dinosaur movie. Because lets face it, monster movies have sucked recently (Godzilla/Pacific Rim)



Batman Vs Superman:
Looking good - I think Affleck is gonna be great. I love his chunky looking Bats. 



Does anyone else think that Bats looks like he's wearing a Lego Batman costume here:


Fantastic 4 reboot looking shit:

Yeah the new Fantastic Four movie looks awful which is a shame because the Fantastic Four has the potential to be a great movie franchise.

As for the Batman Vs Superman trailer while I don't have a problem with them going dark for the DC movies (DC practically invented the grim and gritty comic back in the 80s/90s) I still don't feel like they are portraying Superman correctly. 

The teaser makes it seem that Superman is an accidental villain. I thought that the Vs angle of the film would come from both characters clashing over their approaches and ideals rather than Batman being afraid of the power that Superman has. Still I am really looking forward to the film! It's BATMAN AND SUPERMAN in the same movie!

Also it is the kicking off point for the Justice League movies so they will kiss and make up by the end of it

Fantastic Four looks wank.
Jurassic Park looks predictable.
Will see how BvS pans out.

I think Jurrasic world looks predictable but good... watching the trailer in the cinema before the age of Ultron I go the feeling though that basically if StarLord (whatever his real name is) wasn't in it then it would fall on its behind... every bi they showed which was exciting or interesting was something he was saying or doing.

I am confident it will be a million times better than 2 and 3 but not hit the heights of the first one.

New Pixels trailer.

That looks really good!

With Pixels it's weighing up what you know will be shit about it - Adam Sandler - and the subject matter, which looks good. It is that strangest of things - an Adam Sandler film I wouldn't mind watching!

I actually quite like Adam Sandler. Some of his movies are childish rubbish but occasionally he hits the sweet spot of silly but charming like 50 First Dates or Blended.

Terminator Genisys. Yet another reboot for the series, this one seems to be a mash up of Terminator and T2 while ignoring T3 and Salvation, which is wise. Looks OK.



Mad Max: Fury Road "Retaliate" trailer. This has got good reviews and I'm actually going to see it today.

I feel like with GenisIs (hate the spelling with a y) that they are now desperately throwing anything at the Terminator storyline to just get a film made due to having the rights.

Old Arnie versus Young Arnie equals awesome. It's a great hook and I can't wait to see it.

Another Spectre trailer has snuck out and while it is mostly the same as the last one there are a couple of bits of new footage in there:

So Jurassic World has made half a billion in just one weekend. That is insane! Apparently it doubled the expected intake.

Another attempt at a Hitman movie. Can't be any worse than the last effort, can it?

Genysis seems to be getting a bit of a pasting from movie critics, the reviews are ranging from it's average to it's atrocious! 

Not completely surprised but I was expecting a slightly better reception.

Den of Geek gave it 2/5 and pretty much slated it.

I just cannot believe that they put the twist in the trailer. Feel like I don't need/want to watch it now as I know what's going to happen thanks to the trailer. Way to put off people watching it movie studio.

Looks really good but as I suspected they are just taking the overall theme and concept of Civil War rather than outright adapting it. A bit of a shame but I'm still looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

Just posted the trailer in the Marvel thread before seeing this.

I reckon that the only things that they will take from the comic are an explosion to kick things off, Cap and team vs Iron Man and team and registration.

I don't think it even needs that catalyst to start it off. Just look at the destruction caused in Age of Ultron. Hulk vs Hulkbuster and Tony Stark being responsible for Ultron is probably more than enough for superhero registration to come into force.

Oh aye but I think that the registration and the Sokovia files will be behind the scenes until the explosion in which it will be presented to Cap.

It looks like they are making Bucky the focal point for it, so I'm guessing he will be framed for the inciting incident that kicks into gear the MCU's version of Registration Act.

Oh and a new trailer for something called Batman V Superman which in my opinion reveals too much and like Terminator: Genesis has probably just saved me a trip to the cinema.
