Re: Today
I'm having a similarly crappy start to the New Year. We got home on Friday to a leak in the ceiling in our bedroom above the bed! Water everywhere, a soaked mattress and the landlord's "guy" can't come around to fix it until Monday. So we are having to sleep on out foldout futon in the spare room which is freezing!dste01 wrote:Today I had to take the car in to be fixed as a spring coil snapped off last night.
Only three days in and already I'm starting to hate 2015.
Re: Today
Urgh, that sucks man. Is the mattress salvageable or is it completely ruined?
Today I just feel exhausted, now three nights without proper sleep due to the little one's chicken pox. Had a stonking headache for most of the day but isn't too bad now thankfully.

Re: Today
I know how you feel with the leak. A few years ago when I was living with my X I came home in the middle of the day having finished an early shift at work to find water dripping through the ceiling. Went up 2 flights of stairs to my attic bathroom to find the water was coming from the water tank (the bit that tells it when it is full had broke and so it had filled and filled and filled). I ended up living in a damp knackered house for ages while it was all sorted out. In the end almost every room was replasterd, new carpets, etc... The stress of it all nearly drove me insane.
Been there with the chicken pox infected kid as well dste01 if you were local Id offer you a hand ( Im qualified as a Nursery Manager but have been unable to get a job).

Re: Today
We've managed to salvage the mattress, we think. I can already see the damp forming in the room though. Good thing we are planning on moving out of this place at some point this year!
Re: Today
Back to reality today as it's back to work after the Xmas festivities, I hate this time of year. Christmas is over, the weather is usually at it's gloomiest, the bills will soon start dropping through the letterbox and my next holiday seems an age away - there's not even any exciting new game releases this month that I can think of to cheer me up, roll on spring!

I took an extra day - daughter had an inset day and we went ice skating - but back to the pit face tomorrow (unable to remember any of my passwords, or the name of my new chief exec ).

I was back yesterday, was so tired and bored.
Managed to oversleep this morning but still made it in on good time.

Re: Today
Today I had a day off work and it was nice as I actually managed to get some stuff done including joining a selling comics Facebook group which I'm hoping will pan out.

Today I rang my phone/broadband provider to have the voicemail removed (as you now have to pay for it) and came away with a cheaper package.

Found out today that a member of staff at my place is a Nottingham Forest supporter and grew up in Nottingham. Had a bit of a chat about the two which was nice.

Re: Today
First day back at work after a long weekend of moving house! I'm absolutely wiped out from all the heavy lifting. Also enjoying getting back on the internet because I have to wait another two weeks to get it in my new home
Re: Today
Today I was off work due to waiting in for the roofer to come round.
Got home from work last night to find water coming in through the bedroom ceiling, bed is currently in the living room. Obviously not as bad as a lot of people have had it recently.
Also managed to cut my finger open trying to fix the disc drive on the PC, not massively deep but a fair bit of blood.
