Disc four of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary four disc boxset.

Haven't even listened to discs one to three yet as been loving this one so much.

Absolutely love this album, to say it's b-sides and unreleased material it's bloody great.

Anyone else listening to Iron Maiden's new album? After reading so many positive reviews, and seeing its success, I was rather looking forward to it, only to find myself a little disappointed by it. I really liked their last album, so it was a shame to read reviews saying it was Iron Maiden back on form, when actually I don't think it was as good. Despite having some really long, epic songs, and some good guitar work, I found it a little dull, and no song really stood out.

On the other hand, I downloaded Disturbed's new album on a whim, and was blown away by it. Chugging metal and chanting vocals, with a truly stand out track in Song of Silence, which is different and unique. It has livened up my commute to work.

What have you Done by Within Temptation featuring Keith Caputo.

Love the song and has rekindled my love for Within Temptation.

I can't stop listening to this song - just sublime metal! 

Went to see Nightwish tonight, at Wembley and it was an epic gig. They went all out, with full on fireworks and explosions and smoke. They played many of their longer, epic songs, as well, so it its no surprise that the show was being recorded for a live DVD. Will look forward to seeing that being released sometime...

Nightwish - Endless Forms Most Beautiful

Myself and the O/H are big Nightwish fans but after Imaginaerum we were not that fussed about picking up Endless. Finally did pick it up and gave it a listen and it's alright. Better than the last couple but still no where near as strong as the earlier stuff. One song sounds like Dark Chest of Wonders from Once and the Richard Dawkins stuff made me laugh but I'll listen to it again.

Bother and Through the Glass by Stone Sour.

Never really given the band a chance but think I might pick up the CD's now.

Metallica - Hardwired

Not that impressed truth be told.

Sabaton - The Last Stand. Suitably bombastic warfare metal. A usual high standard and head banging worthiness. Enjoying it but doesn't match their classics.

I've been rooting round Youtube looking for new music to listen to, have been listening to September Mourning. Not spectacular but decent enough.

The Ninth Hour by Sonata Arctica. Actually going to see them in London tonight and their new album is ok. It's very much of their type of music but I found it a bit samey. Hopefully they will play more of their classics at the show!

Deftones - Gore

Not as strong as some of their other stuff but still a good listen.

Had a bit of a Deftones day yesterday where I listened to their later albums Saturday Night Wrist, Diamond Eyes, Koi No Yokan and Gore as the Back to School (Mini Maggit) EP.

Deftones are one of my favourite bands but for some reason apart from Koi No Yokan I don't tend to really listen much to stuff after White Pony, especially not the Deftones album. I'm going to listen to them a bit more and really get to know the albums.
