Reasons why Sega should have beat Nintendo.
Now Sega are a shadow of there former selves and I am not going to say that what has happened was wrong... However I think it would be fun to look at all of the ways in which Sega did something good or had advantages over Nintendo. Kind of a fun exercise in looking at the positives of a once far more powerful than it is now company.
I will start with a suggestion based more on feelings and appearances than any fact.
When the SNES came along it very much seemed like the NES was just dead and dropped...... sega seemed to try and keep the Master System alive and relevant for a longer period of time as a sort of budget console for the very young or those less interested in having cutting edge technology.

Re: Reasons why Sega should have beat Nintendo.
Sega's fall was due to bad management. They just made a series of terrible business decisions.
Like most Japanese companies they pick a plan and stick to it without fail. That is until they have no other option. Since Sega went 3rd Party it has been a slow and steady slope down to mediocrity for me. They have the occasional blip that is a good game but otherwise it is shovelware, re-releasing old stuff and mobile crap.
But their biggest problem in my eyes is refusing to release Phantasy Star Online 2 in the west! I JUST WANT TO PLAY IT!

Yeah a lot of the problems I had with sega I have with Nintnedo to an even lager degree and its them basically telling us what is right for us instead of providing what the customer wants..
PSO is one of those games that handled correctly they could have put on every console going and milked for all its worth...yet they wouldnt put the basic effort in to do it half the time
