RIP Now Gamer Forums
So it's all over now!
I have to say for five years NowGamer was my favourite place on the Internet. I enjoyed our chatter and that it was such a friendly place with none of the arguments or closed opinions found elsewhere - everyone was happy to discuss and accept differing thoughts. We had a nice varied group of interests and while it was slow some days it did allow you to see everything that was posted and get to know the other regulars.
I hope we can continue that here!!!
I do wish all the best for the main webpage and the staff all the best. I know the forum wasn't the main priority there but it was great while it lasted and I believe supported as best it could.

It's...it's...just like home
Big thanks to all those involved in setting this up again - like Wolvie, I enjoyed the NG forums immensely. No bell ends! Or those there were didn't stick around for long

We should try to rescue some NGF castaways on Twitter. CPC and moozo are definitely on there. Anyone else? Or through XBL/PSN?

I messaged everybody on my PSN list, even those who weren't at NG. Always good to try and get new people involved anyway. I'd recommend everybody doing it just to raise this forums profile. I might also post on Facebook later.

RIP indeed to the old forums but I feel this might be the breath of fresh air it needed.
I too send a message to the old NG forum people on my PSN list and got a few thank yous so hopefully we'll see a few more come back.

Echo what everyone else has said about the great (albeit small) community that we've managed to maintain over the last few years and pleased to see that we've made a new home here as I wasn't really too keen on trying to find somewhere else that would put up with me
Hope we can replicate what we had on the previous forum, no reason why we can't and maybe we'll even find a way to expand on the numbers.

Hello folks,
I am away at the moment so the site downtime/closure was news to me until I got your messages on PSN.
I'm signed up now anyway, I will be back properly at the weekend.

Yes, and spread the word to anyone. I think this place might be harder to attract new people as there isn't a well advertised main site to get visitors who might have a look on the forums. So we need to tell people ourselves, and at least try to get all the NG people over.

Re: RIP Now Gamer Forums
Hi everyone! Glad to see this place is filling up with the old regulars.
I'm not necessarily going to miss the NG forum - the staff there didn't give a flying fuck about it so moving over here can only be a good thing. The way Imagine just shut the forum down without warning was terrible and I have now cancelled my GamesTM subscription (was going to do it anyway).
So, on with the show! This place is nice - anything left in the minibar?

Someone on twitter (may have been Adam/TimmyShire) said that the amount of work required in dealing with the spam wasn't worth it for a forum that only had 7-10 regulars. There may have been other factors but that does make sense, although if that were the case it would have been nice to get some advance warning, especially as the spam issue had been ongoing for ages.

Yeah if that was the case it wouldn't have hurt them to give us a message going ''Look guys going to close this place down cause of the spam issues ... so exchange emails etc with each other and get anything off here you need as we are going to close it in 3 days/24 hours etc''

Re: RIP Now Gamer Forums
I didn't know the site had closed till wolvie messaged me on PSN a couple of days ago. I was very sad as I'd been a member of the forum since it's inception and I liked the fact that everybody respected each others opinion, even if there were disagreements, and the complete lack of that ridiculous fanboy nonsense.
I hope this new site continues along the same lines and gains plenty of new members over time, I'm already trying to get some of my gaming buddies to sign up.

It's a shame to see it go. Over five years we had there! I enjoyed looking through old threads from time to time.

At least I get a fresh start and the opportunity to clean up some of my behaviour. Whether I take that opportunity or not is another matter

I think the new forum is shaping up well. Seems a bit more active than towards the end on NG

Re: RIP Now Gamer Forums
Yeah I agree, the new forum is looking good. I though the NowGamer forum was starting to get a little stale anyway to be honest, and I didn't really visit it a lot towards the end.
