Name and address of forum changing this weekend. 13/14th September

Now that the voting is over and we have a new name, The Checkpoint. I need to change the forum address and such so everything matches.

I decided to buy thecheckpoint.net at 4am due to cheese induced lack of sleep and a want for this place to have "proper" address.

I'm hoping it will be a straight forward switch over but there might be a couple of bumps on the way so bare with me.

The change over will be on Saturday/Sunday! So on either the 13th or 14th of September.

Look at the name change as the forum becoming its own thing away from NowGamer. 

It's our little corner of the internet but we have a great community and we know it. This is our chance to take what was started over on the NowGamer Forums many years ago and turn it into something awesome.

As I look around the internet and see gamers attacking each other for having different points of view I am glad I have this place. Here we actually talk about the thing we love, video games. 

Some of us just like to share what we are playing, others try to recommend new and different games to others. We get to chat about the finer points of the games we are playing beyond "Does it look good?" "HYPE" and "Insert other NeoGAF related speak here" without the worry of a troll wading in and being an ass. Yes we disagree on things but we never get vicious or petty. We just talk about it like normal level headed people.

That is why I come here everyday.

Wether we grow into a massive forum or just stay as the current core group I don't care I'm just glad I have a place to actually talk about games and share my interests. So thanks guys you're all awesome.

This is something we are building collectively, The Checkpoint is ours and we've reached it together.

I feel kind of guilty that you are doing all this (and actually spending your own personal cash) and I'm just sitting here doing nothing.

My suggestion: Put up a "Donate" button so lazy folks like myself can relieve our guilt by throwing an occasional tenner your way

Yeah that was just a quick Mock up on paint.... I Agree it would need changes to avoid issues  ... but im not going to spend ages on it for everyone to say its crap so thought id throw a mock up out there  lol

I had a look and from what I can see there are no real limitations. We just want to keep it simple and small really so it can be used across the site without getting too much in the way.

The wife has also offered to help. She's a new media designer so this kind of stuff is in her wheelhouse.

BTW I host a community too, if I can help in anyway shape or form just let me know. I can help with either spreading the word through publicising or affiliating, not to bad with graphic design (although I see you have that covered) or just general spit balling advice and ideas then just give me a shout on here or FaceCloth.
