Plans for making plans
Sooooo things have been extra quiet around here lately. I've not had as much time to interact with the site due to a multitude of things. Mainly being super busy at work, moving house and still not having internet so the plans I had have fallen way down on my list of priorities. Sorry!
Still it seems that things really have ground to a halt here. So we have a few options.
We can:
Option three would require multiple people getting involved but we will cross that bridge if we come to it.
So what do people think?

We can:
- Carry on as we are, which isn't a bad thing, people just need to make the effort to post and reply to threads.
- Update the forum. I can look into re-designing the look and feel of the place in the hopes of making it a better experience to read and use.
- Try something different. Ie. a new site, new mission, new format for doing things...possibly.
- Close up shop and move over to a more established forum.

So what do people think?

The Checkpoint is a safe haven of friendly, respectful gaming and general chat free from the rants and insults of those idiot fanboys who infest other sites, so I'm happy for things to stay as they are. With only about 4 or 5 semi regular contributors now though I don't know how realistic that is. Even PorcusHawk seems to have deserted us.

Re: Plans for making plans
If people want to move to another, more populated forum, I'm happy with that, but what I like about Checkpoint is how we are very comfortable with each other and each others opinions, no fear of trolling or silly arguments, but actual discussion over differing opinions, but acceptance that we do like different things.
If there is another place like that out there, let me know!
But yes, even our established regulars have stopped posting. There's nothing if no one wants to post anything. Do we need more threads? Post more newsy items to get new threads?

Once I'm up and running with internet at home I should be able to post more. I suppose I could look into setting up some sort of bot that would auto-post news items from other sites but that could get quite spammy quite quickly.Wolvieware wrote:If people want to move to another, more populated forum, I'm happy with that, but what I like about Checkpoint is how we are very comfortable with each other and each others opinions, no fear of trolling or silly arguments, but actual discussion over differing opinions, but acceptance that we do like different things.

I'll do some digging either way.
Re: Plans for making plans
I've not been on for a while as I've been fighting a bloody virus which resulted in me having a week of work and pretty much being in bed every night since between 9-10pm.
Will try and catch up with some posting soon.

Whilst this is good, the flipside is it that it's also the same reason I've hardly been posting to some degree. It's a bit stale.Wolvieware wrote:...what I like about Checkpoint is how we are very comfortable with each other and each others opinions, no fear of trolling or silly arguments, but actual discussion over differing opinions, but acceptance that we do like different things.
I'm sure I've said this in response to a few similar threads, but the regulars all know who does/doesn't like what kind of game 99% of the time. That means it doesn't make for exciting conversation a lot of the time.
Personally it's also because I've mainly been playing Destiny since it came out and not too much else. I have played other games but predominantly that and no-one else is interested so I have to discuss that elsewhere.
In 2016 I want to try and make more effort to post as it would be a shame for this to just vanish.
