Rocket League
Inspired by Wolvie.
Now that the freaking awesome Rocket League is here (and it's free to boot) it would be great to see if we can get some good old fashioned forum multiplayer sessions going. Without trying to put the mockers on it the servers do seem to have settled a bit over this weekend so hopefully the early issues are close to being ironed out.
I've not yet fully explored the 'Private match' options but the game would appear to be flexible enough to allow for 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and maybe 4v4 (the last two are optimistic given the state of the forum ). Or we may be able to form a small team of 3 or 4 to tackle some other teams instead.
I'm flexible enough with times and can play pretty much whenever so I'll leave it up to interested others to state their preferred times. On a similar note, if I'm already on your friends list (if not, then why not ) and you see me online, don't hesitate to send me a party invite outside of any arranged times because as I stated in the 'Now Playing' thread, I don't see me dropping this game anytime soon.
The ball's in your court gents

Re: Rocket League
I am up for this just been a bit busy. Will let you know some dates I'm free next week soon and see if they coincide with anyone else.
I played a bit more and found myself doing much better. It's like something just twigged and suddenly I "get" the game. I then went from losing my current single player championship to now leading it.
The game chucks trophies at you. Almost every game I've been rewarded with something.

Nice! Hopefully by then I will be out of my current slump.
I'm not sure what's going on but I seem to have a bit of wall recently, my accuracy with shooting is worse than ever, I'm mis-timing jumps, got into a bad habit of always jumping when shooting (???) and have been the weakest link when partied up with some friends over the last few days.
It could just be a case of trying to run before I can walk as I've been working on some of the more advanced techniques when I really need to keep it simple sometimes.

I still need to boot up Rocket League
When I get round to playing it and if people are online I will be up for a few games. No promises on playing at certain times though!

Wednesday should be good for me, probably sometime shortly after 8pm ish if that works for you (and hopefully anyone else who may be interested).

Nice! I'll set up a lobby and party chat up at around 8.30 (unless someone else wishes to host) and if anyone else on here wants to join us just let me know, probably a bit short notice now though.

Great bunch of games tonight! This is great single player but the multi player is damn good fun too.

Yeah it was a lot of fun. Much better with friends than playing against AI. The games tonight have put me off the single player a little.

Re: Rocket League
A good laugh tonight with some great games, a pity that the lag ruined the last few matches, although that in itself provided some pretty funny moments.
It was also good to get six of us in there as I wasn't sure if the demand was there so hopefully we can arrange another session soon. On that note, if anyone has any ideas as to when/if they're available for the next one just drop a note in here.

Re: Rocket League
Yeah had to drop out after a few rounds as the ping was so high for me and didn't want to feel like I was ruining it for everyone else. Weird, never had that problem with this game before, usually rock solid 30.

I've been reading around at it seems to be a known issue, in that the EU servers can really struggle at peak time. I don't usually play at the time we did last night so I can't comment if that's indeed true or not. The strange thing is that I still had really low ping, at around 16-20ms so it seems a little bizarre.
If the same thing happens when we next do this (and if I'm hosting again), I'll probably host the match on the US servers, I've read that the game will be more playable even with the obvious higher ping.

Thurs is the better choice. Leo said he would join in again. About 8.30 would be good again.

That's ideal, I'll also see if I can get my US friend (aka the annoyingly tough goalie) to join us again, although it would be good if we could get some others from the forum who didn't join us last time to join in too. Hope you're listening you others

Re: Rocket League
Double post but what the hell.
It may be worth pointing out that if you're planning to join us tonight it would be wise to check that you've updated to the latest version beforehand.
The last patch was released late last week and whilst it's not a big update it can still take a while to download due to the 'quirks' of PSN.

Re: Rocket League
Another great session tonight. A slow start before we really started to hit our stride as a three man team. I even had one really good game (video to come later) but it was a grand team effort all round. Would be good if we could get more of us though!
