Guitar Hero / Rock Band Resurgance RB4_logo_stacked.0
So Rock Band 4 has been announced, and there's rumours of Guitar Hero being relaunched with an announcement tomorrow.

Now back in the heyday, I was a massive fan of these games (both series) and have played ALL of them, plus spent an obscene amount of money on DLC and peripherals. At one point I had four guitars.

They were great games, but has the ship sailed?

I'm not terribly excited by these new announcements, purely, really due to the cost. I'm not really prepared to pay out for another guitar (only one of my 4 still works...), let alone a full band kit. Plus will all previous DLC be compatible? I'm not prepared to buy into it again, and wondered if anyone really is?

Nah I'm not paying out again. It's not like they were reliant on graphics as such so not sure what benefits 'next gen' can bring to these games.

It'll more be in the delivery of songs through whatever the networks have evolved in to.

The new Guitar Hero looks......interesting.....

That live audience thing is going to get very annoying very fast I think!

I wonder if it will be possible to change the background images/first person live stuff?

I have to confess, the new button arrangements intrigue me...

I think they have had enough time laying low with the franchises so it could be popular again providing they don't do what they did last time and completely saturate the market.

I love playing the ones from last gen and hope it succeeds but from the few bands announced there are none that I am bothered about and according to reports they are trying to appeal to the mass market. Most likely means that will be few tracks on there that I like which if this is the case I'll be passing on it unfortunately.

I'm sure I read that they were not planning on releasing many stand-alone games once this is out and that they will instead focus on a steady stream of content to play.  Almost like a Spotify where you play the songs.
