Blood Bowl II Empty Blood Bowl II

Post by cal_el Thu Mar 12, 2015 9:33 pm

I've been going on somewhat of a nostalgia trip recently. During it I have rediscovered my love for all things Blood Bowl! I used to play the 3rd edition of the collectable board game like a man possessed when I was a kid. Currently I am reading up on the latest rules and regulations from the league circuit and eagerly anticipating my next trip to my Mum's were I will be getting all my old Blood Bowl gear out of storage and getting back into the swing of things!

I have also been revisiting the Blood Bowl games that are available from Cyanide Studio. The first game is a bit hit and miss. The core gameplay is great but the presentation and UI is a horrible mess of thing. However Blood Bowl II looks like a huge improvement over it,

It is looking very polished and they are taking a persistent approach to all aspects of the game both online and offline which is cool. There is going to be a market place to trade players and full support for Leagues via the games dedicated servers among many other things Very Happy

Does anyone else have their eye on this?

Having played the original game with minatures etc I had hoped that the first blood bowl would be a brilliant Video Game recreation ... it wasnt but fingers crossed for the second one... its certainly something they should be able to make a top notch game of.

I played the first edition of the board game when it came out (15th or 16th birthday present I think) and loved it. I bought the DS and 360 games and they were a bit...shit. Wary of this one; will wait on reviews.

The main problem I have with it is that too much happens behind the screen as it were. A lot of dice rolls are just told to you without any visual representation and it is not very good at explaining the rules of the game. With the new one they seem to be taking all the criticisms on board.

New gameplay trailer:

Does a good job of showing the work they are putting into making the dice rolling and chance sides of the game clearer. Also digging the camera work! Overall it looks like a vast improvement over the last Blood Bowl game Smile
