Life Stuffs

Decided to make a thread for life stuff so people can chat about it if they want to. There are only a few of us here and we get on well so why not share our lives a bit?

Anyway, I'm probably going to be a bit quiet over the next couple of weeks because my wife had our baby over the weekend! We've called her Aria and she is awesome!

Sadly, the birth itself was a bit of a traumatic experience because despite multiple midwives and doctors telling us the baby was fine and in a good head down position but it turned out that she was in-fact in the breach position. Meaning she was upside down and would come out feet first if birthed naturally which meant it could have been a dangerous birth. It also meant that her labour when it started properly was erratic and we practically had to force ourselves to be admitted in to the hospital to have Kim checked out properly. Due to this not being noticed until it was almost too late we had to make a split second decision for Kim to have a C-Section. Which was a bit scary because we hadn't prepared for it in advance. Thankfully the procedure went well and both the baby and her are doing well and resting in the hospital.

We got very lucky with it all in the end because they were starting to push inducing Kim into labour on us because the baby was twelve days overdue. Which if we had done could have caused major complications with the birth. I think after the dust settles I'll try to chase up what went wrong with people checking on Kim and why but I doubt much will come of it. Still we have a healthy daughter so I am very happy despite being booted out of the hospital at 10pm every night!

Congratulations on the birth of your baby... Sometimes I think they just decide to turn relativly last minute.. my daughter ended up having to be born via c-section because she was positioned wrong, not upside down but sort of trying to come out shoulder first...

After a long period of being unemployed I got a job and I have been there around 6 months, as last year became this year my now X fiance dumped me though with the old ''Im just not in love with you anymore'' chestnut so thats why ive not been as active.

Congratulations on the new born.  

My little one is about to turn three already. Cannot believe that, doesn't seem two minutes since she was born.

She was an awkward birth in that the O/H had loads of problems during the pregnancy including gestational diabetes which meant that the little one had to be induced at 38 weeks. It was a little nerve wrecking but also good as they gave us a specific date that we had to go to Hospital for so that they could begin inducing. We went in on the Friday and by the Sunday nothing was happening so on the Monday morning they did a C-section which was calm and went off without a hitch.

It changes your life for the better in my opinion.

my little bundle of joy is 14 in a week, that really makes one feel old.. went to her GCSE chooices night last night, basically teacher try to push you to push your kid to take there subject, my answer to all of them ''shes responsible for her own future she will take what she wants to take as shes the one whoise future it is'' quiet a few teachers agreed with me although I get the feeling some parents saw it as kind of a hippy view to have.

Yeah that's the sort of things I'll be keeping on top of. I felt I was pushed into studying various things by both my teachers & parents that turned out to not be a good fit for me. Still that's a ways off for me yet. I'm hoping education is just beamed into the child's brain at that point

My short term goals beyond your standard child development is planning out her geeky/pop-culture education

My little one has already seen Labyrinth (I wanted her to watch before she realised how dark and twisted it is) and loves the soundtrack. I was also really pleased when I was listening to the new Deftones song a couple of weeks ago and she came into the room did some head shaking/dancing and then asked for it to be played again.
